Since November 2022 I had to incorporate Cinema 4D into my software toolkit to be comfortably able to use Redshift. I think it’s the very best testimony for frustrations related to using RS in B3D. I still have strong hope for better impementation of the addon and will verify it in some future. Aside many other frustrations caused by terrible C4D workflows I really appreciate some of its features for motion design – I couldn’t achieve many things in Blender that C4D provides on a silver plate.
There is a lot of crucial info missing from the RS Blender Plugin documentation.
I’m running comparisons, analyzing others’ settings, diving in the forums and talking to ppl.
After (or during) that, I’m sharing what I’ve discovered/tested or was recommended on the forums by the devs, before the docs receive an update and more people get frustrated by going the same process on their own…
This guide is by no means comprehensive, treat it more like a supplement to official docs.
Before reading any of this, I recommend having a look at blender plugin missing features.
After plugin update, be sure to check current version release notes available in the documentation.
